Risers allow easy access from the surface to tanks installed underground. Risers must be secured and sealed to the top of the tank to prevent the intrusion of run-off or ground water. Riser lids should project a few inches above the ground surface to prevent debris entering the tank when opened. Lids must be screwed down at all times. We offer three options for risers:

ULTRARIB Pipe Riser

Nominal diameter 24″. Riser height in 1 ½″ increments. Cut length to suit. Secure to neck at tank access opening. PolyLok 24″ heavy duty lid. No lid or tank adapter rings needed. Recycle molded access lid supplied with tank.

ULTRARIB RISERS – DISCUSSION  

We recommend our customers use 24” nominal dia. UltraRib pipe risers for all models of PREMIER underground water and septic tanks.

UltraRib riser sections are more robust and far superior long term than many other tank riser designs currently in the marketplace.  The rigidity of the ribbed construction is very resistant to deflection from uneven backfill pressure and settling.  The ability of UltraRib pipe to hold its shape regardless of riser height helps the access opening in the tank (the structural weak point in any tank) stay round and level regardless of ground pressure and potential deformation over time.  Molded lids supplied with the tanks are not required  to help maintain stability of the opening and can be recycled.  Also, the sealed drop-on and screw-down heavy duty PolyLok lid will always be easy to lift off and put back during periodic service.

The riser height can be cut as one piece to within 1.5” of required height.  One complete guided cut takes 20 seconds with a small customized  circular saw. For most PREMIER PLASTICS’ underground tanks only two components are needed – the riser and the lid. No adapter ring is needed at the neck of the tank opening or at the lid.  The slip joint onto the tank is sealed and secured with E6100 adhesive (for polyethylene).  Silicone sealant will not stick to polyethylene.  4 – 6 lateral SS screws keep the riser in place whilst setting up.  UltraRib to UltraRib connector rings can reduce wastage from off-cuts to zero.  Field time is greatly reduced.

POLYLOK Riser

Nominal diameters 20″ and 24″. Riser height in 6″ increments. 6″ and 12″ vertical sections. Adapter ring for securing to top of tank. Regular or heavy duty cover lid. Access lid supplied with tank can stay in place when using 24″dia. risers.
